Destiny Medina was born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art Therapy from Lesley University and studied photography at Lawrence High School’s Performing and Fine Arts Academy. As a Puerto Rican artist, Medina draws deep inspiration from her heritage, culture, faith, and nature serving as recurring themes in her work. While photography is currently her primary medium, she maintains an interest in all forms of artistic expression. A self-described jack of all trades, Medina views art as a tool for exploration and self-discovery. Her work is nonconforming, vibrant, and rich with symbolism, reflecting her goal to inspire future generations to embrace their identities, stand up for their beliefs, and take pride in their roots.
